First Sci-fi Book The lost planet

Most of the sci-fi books that I have read over the years really aren't worth noting. But "The Lost Planet" is an exception that is worth reading.

I would give it a 9+ age range for usual sci-fi intensity, and I would rate it an 8.2 out of 10.

Chase Garrety wakes up with no memory in a restricted area, with one message, "Guide the star". With the help of mysterious allies who he isn't sure about, he seeks information regarding his past and soon gets into deep trouble. With his solar system in chaos, he has to figure out what is happening to him and who his friends are.

The actual story-line was more than I was expecting from a bit of a cliche starting. I really enjoyed it, as the characters were portrayed well and were enjoyable. The actual sci-fi portions were sufficiently executed. But for all its upsides, there is just a feeling that the book is missing something. Don't get me wrong, it's a great book but it just falls short of the perfection mark. So if you are a fan of Sci-Fi, "The Lost Planet" is a good read. Because, can you not judge this book by its cover-art?
